MENU TRANSITIONS - NEW!

Using Menu Transtions in DVD Studio Pro
By Steve Martin

DVD Studio Pro has a great feature that allows you to use any video clip you’ve imported into your project as a menu transition to any targeted track or sub-menu.

Below is a menu with 3 buttons. When viewers of our dvd select a button and activate it, a short transition clip plays “introducing” the track the button is targeted to.

Here’s how to assign a video transition to a menu:

1. Select a button on your menu.

2. In the Button Inspector, select the transition tab.

3. Choose Video Transition from the transition pop-up menu.

Note: This option will only appear for menu transtions.

4. From the Asset pop-up menu choose the clip you would like to use as your transition.

5. Repeat steps 1-4 for other buttons on your menu.

6. Simulate your menu. When you click on a button your menu will seque to your targeted track (or sub-menu).

One final note. Don’t make your video transitions too large (or too plentiful. After all, do you really need a transition on every button?).

This is because the dvd spec only allows for menus up to 1GB in size. If you exceed this size you will get errors building your disc.
