Look for the Perfect Match

In the course of editing it’s often helpful to compare one version of an edit or clip to a previous version. In DaVinci Resolve 12.5 a new comparison mode has been added to the Viewers to make it easier than ever to see if everything is lining up.

Edit Faster Than Ever

Many of the new features in Resolve 12.5 are designed to make editing faster and more intuitive. In the Timeline, for example, you are now able to have the clip selection follow the playhead, which can be a huge help when making rapid adjustments in the Inspector.

New Tracking Features

DaVinci Resolve already had one of the most powerful trackers available in any NLE and it just got better. In situations where the automatic cloud tracking has difficulty discerning the motion of a frame, you can now tell Resolve to focus on specific areas in your clip, in order to achieve the stabilization results you need.

More Powerful Power Windows

Power Windows have now been given increased functionality, which is really handy in situations where you need to perform some manual rotoscoping. One such example of this is the new ability to select multiple controls points and manipulate them as a group.

As i have read various comments about this software from different sites yet all seem to be positive, i wanna jump into it.

Great work as usual thanks. Very clear and detailed. I often have the training open when I am editing just to find out the most effective way of doing the job. Resolve is a great piece of software that takes some learning, but is worth the effort.

The manual is well written but watching Alexis is a lot easier than reading the 1,000 page PDF.

I recently started using Resolve in my workflow and started with Ripple’s Color and Grading title to get up to speed.

I do have a subscription to an online training service that has various titles on Resolve (and everything else) but hands down, Alexis’ tutorials are the best training available for Resolve. For me, the extra cost to pay for these is well worth it.

This title on 12.5 new features is perfect for what I need to know and get to work.

Another great Alexis Van Hurkman’s tutorial/update. This tutorial covers all you need to get up to speed. If you start with DaVinci Resolve, (like I did a few month ago) start with the tutorials from RippleTraining; they’re perfect for everybody who wants to know all about Resolve. Great quality for a fair price.

Well paced, informative and timely information all packaged in easy to follow steps. Covered a lot of ground but was not overwhelmed by the sheer volume of changes that have taken place in the software. Highly recommended training material for everyone.

A very comprehensive update. Also covers some items that quietly showed-up in the last couple of updates. Pacing and details are really nice. Love the chapter/topic breakdowns, making it easy to zero-in on specific issues or skip around to topics of interest or concern.
Of course, the lightning fast release timing is off the charts! Nice work.

The video material is high quality – enough to see the detail. Tutorials are well-paced and highly informative. I was somewhat daunted by the size of the Blackmagic 12.5 manual, but the tutorials ensure the essentials are easily grasped.
    Highly recommended.

As with all of the Ripple DaVinci Resolve Training titles, this one is comprehensive, well-thought-out and well presented. Van Hurkman’s pacing is perfect, and his voice is clear and pleasant yet somehow not at all soporific.
There is no better way to get up to speed with the latest features in Resolve.
