I’ve finished going through Using and Animating 3D Cameras in Motion 5.4 tutorial and really enjoyed it.

I have a question in regards to creating backgrounds and floors.

In the videos, you use Solid colors and Gradients to create the environments, is there a way to use a 2D image to be used as a background and then having the 2D image being moved around based on where the camera is position with its moves, overall I don’t want a 2D image to feel stationary in the background while the camera is moving around for example.

I have tried match move on the 2D image with source on camera behaviors and keyframes but didn’t work, or is this something that’s not capable within Motion?

You can use 2D images in place of solids and gradients but they will likely look odd since they will be flat. The other options are to cut out objects in 2D images and spread them out in Z-space, or creating a plane and background out of an image like this: or this:

    I hope that helps!
