Carve Out Your Story
DaVinci Resolve 17 Core Training will guide you through Resolve’s complete post production workflow from initial media import to final delivery and everything in between. You’ll begin your journey by diving into the ground-breaking Cut Page to edit and deliver a finished promo, before moving into the Edit Page where you’ll learn essential trimming and sound editing practices the pros use every day.
Color Grade Like a Pro
At the heart of the DaVinci Resolve experience is the Color Page where you’ll learn how to perform primary color corrections with Lift, Gamma and Gain controls and Custom Curves while evaluating your changes objectively in the video scopes. You’ll then move on to performing targeted color corrections using Qualifiers, Power Windows and the awesome new Color Warper to give your shots more punch.
Sound Edit & Mix in the Fairlight Page
Moving into the Fairlight page, you’ll learn how to properly organize a mix and perform basic sound editing tasks such as cleaning up dialogue, perform audio repairs, and employ Fairlight’s unique method for copying and pasting audio clips to other tracks in the timeline. Additionally, you’ll learn how to record voice over, create submixes, and record fade automation data using the Mixer.
Create Motion Graphics in the Fusion Page
Fusion is a node-based compositing tool built right into Resolve 17. You’ll learn how to set up multiple trackers for stabilizing a shot and how to clone out unwanted elements in the frame. Once you are comfortable in Fusion’s nodal compositing environment, you’ll learn how to animate a title then track it to a moving object using another shot from your timeline.

This training was OUTSTANDING! I would highly recommend this to any beginner, as well as anyone with intermediate to expert knowledge of Davinci Resolve. This is training and knowledge you absolutely will not find on YouTube. Steve is concise, easy-to-follow, and thorough.

I highly recommend this training. I spent a year, clicking away on YouTube as many people do. However, this was not the best way to learn. This course is structured in such a way, that I learned more in two weeks than in a year of random internet clicking. I would recommend this training to anyone new to DaVinci and wants to get comfortable with the tools. Once I completed the training, I felt much more comfortable with the interface. In addition, by following Steve step by step, I genuinely felt like I was working on a real project.

The efficiency of this course (and other Ripple Trainings) is really outstanding. In a short period of time you get a complete and in depth overview about all the different areas in Davinci Resolve. And following along with the provided media really helps to memorize all the information and details you learn from Steve. Thanks for this great tutorial!

Ripple Training has been my go-to editing resource for many years now. I must have completed over a dozen tutorials! Inundated as we are with free content online, my needs are met much more comprehensively with the well-structured and immersive approach at which Ripple Training excels. The DaVinci Resolve 17 Core Training is no exception. Coming from Final Cut Pro it was a steep learning curve, but Steve Martin has the knack of explaining processes concisely, without them becoming too challenging or intimidating. He obviously knows his stuff, but he also has the ability to impart that knowledge to others with clarity.
Having completed many Ripple Training tutorials, my only advice to those new to the courses would be not to be tempted to ‘cheat’; use the downloaded project files, and let Steve steer you through the processes methodically. It’s one thing having something explained to you, but the learning process tends to stick more thoroughly when you have to do it yourself on your own computer.
I can’t recommend Ripple Training enough. My extensive collection of tutorials has become a de facto reference library to which I return regularly. With that in mind, I’ve just purchased my latest on Color Management in DaVinci Resolve 17. I’m a bit daunted by that one, but I’m sure I’ll be in good hands.

Ripple has an academia vibe with this very thorough and in depth training course. I have literally never used any type of editing software before, complete beginner. I bought a Blackmagic camera and Resolve Studio 17 and that was all I knew. I read pretty much every post relating to Davinci Resolve training recommendations, and there are a lot of them out there so I really wanted to make the right choice. I’m really glad I decided to go with the courses in Ripple Training – especially the core tutorial. I have such an understanding now of how to edit and experiment with colour and sound. I actually feel that it’s helped me feel more confident behind my camera as well because I now know what I’m capable of editing later on. From my point of view – I highly recommend this course with Steve, and I look forward to taking more Ripple tutorials.

I’ve been hearing lots of good stuff about Resolve but didn’t know the finer points of how to use it. This tutorial was extremely helpful and I love how it covered so much breadth and at the same time depth across all of the different tabs… Nice job, Steve!

An outstanding in-depth course that has put all the pieces of the puzzle in alignment for me. I looked around for complete courses to give my learning a good foundation and so glad I found Ripple on the Blackmagic website. I highly recommend this course to everyone. The course fee is negligible too.

Steve’s DaVinci Resolve 17 core training is an excellent course for beginners and advanced users alike who want to absorb what old features and each new improvement in Resolve 17 does and how to get the most out of them. Steve’s training is well laid out and touches on every subject matter, it is essentially the ‘manual on video’ with an exhaustively detailed explanation of each and every new feature in DaVinci Resolve 17. Ripple training excellent online player and granular indexing of the course allows you to jump to the specific minute in the training you’re looking for. I have been following Ripple Trainings courses for years and and I must say that Steve’s DaVinci Resolve 17 core training, like all the other courses, is a great learning tool. if someone wants to learn DaVinci Resolve inside out , one should buy Steve’s DaVinci Resolve 17 core training.

After using Ripple Training to help me navigate the finer points of Final Cut Pro and Motion, there was no doubt where my first stop needed to be when I decided to dive into Blackmagic’s DaVinci Resolve. Steve’s laid back yet concise teaching style walks the student through a real life production, tackling the same issues anyone, from blogger to film makers would face in their day to day work. The training was laid out well and covered what I needed to know to get started in every different module of the program. The training was so good, I binged it all over two days. I have been a post editor since 1986, but I still need training to stay fresh in my craft & Mark & Steve, have have been my go to source for that training. Want to learn Resolve? Buy that course.
