So here is my burning question based on some workflow standards we use. Does creating a camera archive make sense if you work from a single external drive?
I agree with you (and Ollie Kenchington). It seems to me that the issue is that a camera archive must be “mounted” much like a dmg or iso file in order to “see” it’s contents. I’m guessing that there is some extra little bit of code that is called to accomplish that when you flip the disclosure triangle to see it’s contents. Just my thoughts.
The bug you mention has been there for a long, long time and I agree, it is a deeply frustrating part of what otherwise is a great feature. One small niggle, though, you mention the archive has to be in your favourites but that in fact is not true. You can also just find the archive you’re after in the Finder part of the Media Import window, click the disclosure triangle to open it and then close the window again. Just as annoying but something I thought I’d point out. ??
