question regarding masks and 3d effect

Carlos, you can mask stills either in Motion with the masking tools or in an image editing application like Photoshop, and then animate the layers in Motion. Here's a short video on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOht1GJpEm4

Motion Slow to Open

Those are containers, not codecs - I would choose Quicktime MOV but not clear if that's H.264 although I'd guess it is.

FCPX 10.4 Wide Gamut HDR (use on non-Log footage?)

What are "5D4 MOVs"? If you are editing and outputting Rec. 709 I see no value in shooting with an HDR setting. Shoot Log or RAW to get the most dynamic range and least compression. Mark

Sean, the cloner isn't designed to be used like that. I'd suggest you fix the photo in a photo editing app first, then use it in a drop zone.   Mark
