Just finished watching through (the first time) the Motion 3D text videos. Very well done and easy to follow.
Have a question related to a specific technique related to 3D text. In the sample video on Motion 5 page on Apple’s site (http://images.apple.com/media/us/mac/motion-5/2015/tour/3d-titles/motion5-3d-titles-cc-us-20150414_r848-9dwc.mov?width=848&height=480), at about 32 seconds there’s a raceway clip with a 3D text that tracks the finish line. How would something like that be achieved?
One approach would be to shoot 4K, dolly then track the text object to something in the frame. Then place the 4k clip into a 1080 project then keyframe a pan or zoom to reveal of the tracked object. Another approach is frame by frame keyframing of the text object as the camera does a physical dolly. In the clip the camera is doing a track to the right.
