Setup Your Hardware
OBS works with almost any camera or audio device. In lesson one, you’ll learn how to connect professional cameras and microphones to your Mac so that they can be used as switchable sources during the live stream.
Choose Your Media Sources
OBS makes it easy to choose almost any type of media source for your live stream. You’ll learn how to add cameras, computer screens, graphics, movies and even Skype calls to your Scenes so you can seamlessly cut between them.
Switch Between Sources
Once your input sources are assigned as Scenes, we’ll teach you how to switch from one source to another using your mouse or assignable hotkeys. We’ll also show you how to set up transitions, so you can perform fades or wipes from one source to another.
Stream to YouTube
Once you have your scenes setup, it’s time to configure your stream settings on YouTube. We’ll show you how to schedule your streams (called Events), so that your viewers are notified and what bandwidth is required for optimal video and sound quality.

I may have the opportunity to do a live YouTube broadcast in about a month from now. Just finished Travis’s OBS tutorial and feel a lot more comfortable in my trepidation! I really like that it isn’t just a cursory review of the features. It has some depth to it, and I’m looking forward to the test drives leading up to the event so that I can put what I learned into practice. It’s not set in stone that OBS is the way we’re going to go with it, but his tutorial makes it more than simply an option, and hopefully I can use it with enough proficiency to help them make the best decision in the small window of time that we have. Thanks Travis!

Having long-enjoyed, and benefitted from, Ripples Training material it was great to participate in their webinar on live streaming. The presenter (Travis Richmond) explained in clear terms how he helped his team address the challenges they had in moving to live broadcast. The Q&A at the end of the teaching allowed myself and the other participants to tackle specific issues. As a result I am now aware of the resources I need to proceed with producing live streaming.

Excellent information, well presented. I’m a fan of Ripple Training and have come to expect nothing less from the team.

Wow, Travis has presented OBS tutorial beyond my expectations. The detail and step by step what is needed to get the live-streaming under way was extremely well done. The fact that not just mere theory presented but actual past live streaming by Steve and Mark as an example made it so much more clearer, at least to me. I am looking forward to review this tutorial in detail at my own pace. In essence, Travis gets both of my thumbs up. Thank you again guys, that’s what sets you apart from others, detail, simplicity and easy to follow.
