Customize Titles & Generators
Occasionally, the titles and generators built into Final Cut Pro X aren’t exactly what you’re looking for. Rather than spending time creating them from scratch, you’ll learn how to open and modify them in Motion to perfectly suit the needs of your project.
Create Custom Effects
We show you how to make your own custom effects, transitions and animated backgrounds in Motion that you can publish for use in Final Cut Pro X. With only a few simple steps, you’ll learn how to expand your creative options while making your videos stand out from the rest.
Track Your Subjects
Learn how you can leverage Motion to create visual effects like replacing a screen, tracking and blurring objects like faces and license plates, and how to replace a bad pixel, or completely remove an object from a shot.
Create Write-On Effects
Motion will allow you to create animated titles that can be whimsical or dramatic. For example, you’ll learn how to use Behaviors and Masks to reveal different parts of your titles to give them a bold entrance.

Great content for someone who isn’t a professional video editor or animator but wants to learn how to leverage Motion for different projects. Outstanding!

Motion was a bit of a mystery to me until I bought and downloaded this course. If you’re the least bit intimidated by the application, this excellent tutorial will make it so much easier to use. Five stars. Check it out!!!

Ripple tutorials are always excellent, easy to understand videos with everything clearly explained and they also have the project media available to download so you can follow along. This one is ideal for Final Cut editors who want to extend their skill set into visual effects and motion graphics which can be used in video projects.

Disappointed… that this course didn’t just keep going and going and going. I learned so much about Motion. Mark drops a workflow hint while showing how to use the software. That tip on its own regarding replicating work that you’ve been doing is worth the cost of the course on its own. I use Mark’s ideas for my current projects while listening to his training. I call that my Learn and Earn approach. The truth be told I really am disappointed that this course wasn’t 20 times longer because what is there is really really good and definitely leaves (me) wanting more. Mark? What are you doin this weekend?

If you want to learn how Final Cut Pro integrates with Motion, this tutorial will definitely show you. Following along with Mark, I became very impressed with what you can first create in Motion, and then later control and customize in Final Cut. Although this isn’t an advanced tutorial, Mark isn’t afraid to expose you to some of the more advanced features Motion has to offer, and he makes the app feel very accessible. Plus, you get to follow along with a seasoned pro, learning logical workflows and essential keyboard shortcuts. I was new to Motion when I bought this tutorial, hoping it would be a good starting point to help me get acquainted with this app, and I was right. This was the perfect way to learn about Motion without feeling I had been thrown into the deep-end of the pool.

This tutorial truly helped me get the confidence to take on tasks and explore the world of Motion and enjoy it at the same time. Everything I wanted from it. Thank you

Excellent tutorial. I find Mark to be very clear, intuitive and informative. This seems to be, for me at least, a fast paste program but Mark does have a way of presenting us a quick and easy way to properly learn this program and he gets right to the point. I can use the FCP X and with Motion with confidence.
Keep up the great work!

I’m going to have to go through this tutorial again. So much content and depth. I’ve worked with FCPX for a little while but am completely new to motion, I can see how powerful and useful this program is now. Mark does a good job in explaining the features and always communicates many keyboard shortcuts to expedite the work flow. Well done.

Nicely-done tutorial. I came at this from a slightly different direction -I’m learning Motion, so I was somewhat familiar with the app before I started this tutorial. It was pretty effective at showing some practical applications for the techniques I’d been learning in other books and tutorials. So, I’d say it’s not just for people who want to get certain tasks done without learning the ins and outs of Motion – it’s a good tutorial for Motion beginners who are moving up the learning curve.

You guys ROCK!
Mark makes anything he presents look easy. I sit up at night watching these videos in bed with my laptop on my chest and before I know it, it’s 4 in the morning. My wife fusses at me about the glow from the bright screen but I can’t stop watching. I learn exactly what I wanted, especially when it comes to masks and 3D text configurations. This was very useful to me with all the changes in 5.3. I feel like I know more now than I expected to learn. Always a great learning experience guys. Thank you so much!

This is a very good tutorial. I had little prior experience with Motion. This tutorial made it very easy for me to modify titles and transitions, which is something I frequently want to do. Mark’s explanations and examples are, as usual, very effective. I was so intrigued with Motion, I subsequently purchased the tutorial for Getting Started in Motion, which was also excellent.

I don’t have the time to master Motion, but I’ve been fumbling through trying to create simple effects as I need them, with mixed results (often disastrous). This set of tutorials is great – designed for editors rather than SFX specialists and Mark pitches it at exactly the right level. I’ve gone through it once, now I’ll use it as a reference as I need it. Thanks again guys!

A good upgrade as I am used to expect from Mark Spencer. It helps improve my skills and gives good tips.

This is a great upgrade to the previous version of the class. It was especially timely for me in that I just needed to use Motion 5.3 and because of its upgrade changes, it was somewhat confusing to use the new version; the upgrade to this class really helped me in transitioning!
